Are you free?
Hi, I’m Wendy. I’m a mom, wife, certified nervous system and sobriety coach, RMHCI*, and a woman who has done the work herself (and is still doing it).
I’ve lived many chapters: corporate senior manager, owner of several small businesses in food (and booze), hospitality, and fitness, and a student again in my late 40s. I collected degrees, certifications, and passport stamps along the way. But as a people-pleasing perfectionist, I was always focused on everyone else. I said “yes” when I meant “no,” and I confused my inner critic with my true inner voice.
As an only child, I walked through ten years of my mom’s Alzheimer’s while running my businesses and pushing through. In 2019, the long hours and lack of self-care landed me in the hospital. Through all of it, alcohol had become my near-daily way to unwind, to reward myself, and to cope. I thought it helped me to connect with others and to be my “fun” self. Honestly, I drank like everyone around me, so why should I change?
I COULD stop. I just didn’t WANT to.
Part of me knew that alcohol wasn’t serving me anymore. I had begun to connect the dots between my drinking and the sleepless nights, anxiety, low moods, and emotions that felt out of my control. So I found a coach to help me explore my drinking.
For one of the first times in my life, I did the work FOR ME, and not to satisfy my desire to be liked or to do it all. When I was preparing for my first alcohol-free beach vacation, my coach asked, “What if it’s better without drinking?” I thought she was crazy pants! Sure, I could do it, but there was no way that it would be better. But guess what? . . . It WAS better!
That was one of the ways I began to create a life that I wanted, one that was ruled by what I chose, not what controlled me.
Today, I feel a unique freedom that I once always wished for: freedom from anxiety, freedom to do the hard self-work I had been avoiding, and freedom from making choices based on booze.
Now I help others find that same freedom. What if it’s better for you, too?

Integrity Statement: Since 2021, I’ve been living FREE from alcohol’s control.
